Chickenpox

Last night it all started, the girls have been a bit tired last few days, but I thought it was because of early mornings and heat, but now I know...chickenpox. Seems like all children has it now. Our evening started by me finding a few pox on Liina, no fever, but today she has. Viivi was fine last night, she went to bed and a few hours later she threw up, all over her bed. Today she has a high fever, Im just waiting for the pox to pop up, so far only Liina has them. Im glad that they have it now, and not later in life..or in 2 weeks when we are going on holiday...good timing( it is actually their first day of holiday from daycare today, way to start:)

As the girls are sleeping/watching tv, and it is cloudy outside, I think I start cleaning the house...in a big need!

Exercise motivation

Bought myself a present ... a heart rate monitor: And I must say it works perfect for me, it tells me how much and when I need to exercise,intensity and duration, so now I don´t need to think about that anymore, it is like my own unvisible personal trainer:)..makes life simple. It looks like this: Suunto M5( silver)

I went jogging 30 minutes and as a reward after doing a good run, it told me ´very good workout´!:) I haven´t before really cared about monitoring my heart rate, but it is actually interesting to follow and see, feels like I get more out of my workout when I can follow it, as now I can adjust my intensity. So , next work out in 12 hours it tells me:)

It was a beautiful day today, and tomorrow also the weather forecast say:)

As it was such a beautiful day, me & the girls went over to visit my friend Immo, and we enjoyed the pool very much..and sat by the poolside drinking juice & eating cookies :)

Let the summer start, it warms our heart, and a day like this,we dont want to miss !

Midsummer

I wish all and everyone a wonderful midsummer weekend!

We are in Kokkola, yesterday we stayed mostly inside as the nice summer weather didnt show up, luckily I stored up with two books for the weekend...one book already behind, one to go:)

Today we had a late morning, after breakfast we took the girls for a boatride, they love to sit in the boat. And when we got back to the house, summer started,suddenly it got warm and sunny outside, so today we have spent the day outside, much nicer. Just had some cake and ice cream, ann the plan is to go for a run in a few hours with Nico....lets see how that goes...but until then I will make my self comfortable in the comfychair outside and read a bit more.

Summer plans!

It is the time of the summer to plan our summer holiday, what to do and where to go? We prefer to spend our time in Scandinavia, our last plan was to visit east Finland, but on our way back from a few days at the summerhouse in Kokkola we changed our plans and are going to take the ship over to Stockholm, drive to Vimmerby, a stop for the kids, drive to Köpenhamn (Copenhagen), after a few nights there, up along the coast to Göteborg( Gothenburg), and from there up again to Stockholm, a stop over there and then back to Finland, Helsinki, and a drive back to Vasa. If anyone have suggestion what to visit along our journey, all suggestions are welcome, or if you even have a better routing , a ´must see´ area of southern Sweden, that is so beautiful that we just cant miss it, let me know:) It is a while since I have been in southern sweden, or along the west coast.

On friday we visited our neighbors, a late 40th birthday, had a lovely evening sitting outside drinking a few glasses of wine and talking, eating snacks:)

On saturday we packed our bags and drove to Kokkola, first time this summer, it was a bit cool , but that didnt stop me from dozing off in the sun, it is just so relaxing being in that summerhouse atmosphere, nothing has to be done, one can just be lazy,and the sauna in the evening is just something special, didnt go swimming though..I save that for midsummer:)

The girls loved it and ran around barefoot the whole day into the late evening. I think it is all the fresh air that has made me so tired today.

Tomorrow a new week, take care and lets hope the clouds stays away!

Update time

It is a while since I have written, cant even remember when it was..have to check back:)
This week has been a wonderful sunny summer week, one could not ask for better weather, and everyone smiling and being happy....so the weather do effect peoples mentality:)
We have been having a tough flu going on, first Viivi, then me and Nico, and I just wish it could come with force for a few days, instead of hanging there for weeks, making one slow, low and out of energy. I even went to the lab for a troath test as I had such a soar troath, but nothing else to do than wait it out.
On thursday we from Lady Line took part in the yearly Nice Run, a 5km run for women, I felt better so I took part in it as I felt much better( which maybe was not so clever as Im feeling a bit sick again), after the run we got picnics and sat in the grass eating, very nice. My dad had his 67th birthday on thursday also, so before the Nice Run, I went with Liina& Viivi to him for his birthday,Nico came a bit later, and stayed there after I left for the run.
Weekend , as the whole week, we have spent outside. On friday my dad came for dinner, and on saturday Lotte& Johan from Helsinki came for a visit. On saturday we also went down to the local beach, Kronviken, it is a nice place for the girls as it is very shallow water for a long strecth. Today it has been cooler in the air so we went to the amusement park here in Vasas, Wasalandia. It is ok for the children, they enjoy the rides,both Liina&Viivi came in the water rafting ride:)... but even if we had a fun day,I think it is a waste of money if you pay the normal price of 18euros a person, even children pay the same. Not much has changed there over the last 20 years, it is over priced, maybe if they lowered the fees and arranged some more live entertainment there it could work, now it is only open 2 months a year and it feels like less and less people go there, which is sad in a way.
