Passion for animals!

It is raining outside so take time to watch this documentary about the The Lion Ranger, Kevin Richardson, in South Africa and his passion for these animals:

And here is the trailor to the movie where these animals play, White Lion Kingdom

And if you want to see more of this movie you can start by watching Part1:
And finally an article related to the making of the this movie: Lights, camera. Lions!

And one more thing, here is a link to lionwhisperer homepage , and if anyone consider a volunteer job with animals in Africa, I get the question every now and the, this could be your choice.

Enjoy the clips:) I did!

Unwinding!

Yesterday we spent time at our neighbours summer house, Caroline&Robban, such a lovely place they have. It was a bit windy but... sitting in the sun, wacthing out over the water, kids playing and swimming, good food and a few glasses och wine and great company...it was a perfect day, thank you to all:)

Now we are on our way to Wasalandia, the small amusement park here in Vasa, Liina&Viivi wants to go on some rides, both very excited:)

Midsummer!

Photo: :-)

Last weekend we spent in Copenhagen, we had 3 nice days, with sunshine , wind and some rain. As we arrived on friday morning at 7am, we had plenty of time to explore Copenhagen that day. We arrived at our hotel at 8am, left our bags there and went for breakfast to a cafe´ on Ströget, the street almost empty at this time. The sun was shining and we enjoyed our breakfast before we went on the canal boatcruise, a good way to get a view of the city from the waters. After that we stayed at Newhaven for a while before walking along Ströget again, back to our hotel to check in and have a afternoon nap, very much needed after getting up at 4am. Later in the evening we went to the amusementpark Tivoli and enjoyed a dinner there. On saturday it was nice and sunny, we did a Hop on Hop off -bus tour in the morning, and got off at Newhaven ,where we ate lunch outdoors and watched people walk by. In the evening Nico went to watch rugby to a bar next door to the hotel, and otherwise we had a relaxed evening. On sunday we just walked around and realized almost all shops where closed, not so nice when we had time until the evening, our  flight leaving only at 20.35 to Vasa, straight flight, so we ended up going to see a movie:)...we had walked enough over the weekend anyway! It was a good weekend, and I think 3 days is enough time to spend in Copenhagen, especailly if only staying in the center. For shopping I do still prefer Stockholm:)

Girls spent their weekend with my mom& Markku at the summerhouse in Kokkola, and they enjoyed it much there. Viivi got a ticbite( fästing/punkki) , so now I just have to follow her condition for a while, but I think my mom saw it quite fast after it attached to her. I do not like these tiny small creatures!

Today is midsummer, Nico is having his birthday today, me and the girls sang for him this morning and he also got a present:) We are going to spend the midsummer at home, feels like we have been away so much lately so home feels like the place where to be.

I wish you all a sunny and warm midsummer!

Summer plans!

Feels like summer is speeding up but the weather stays behind....where is those warm, nice summer day, evenings? Havent had a chance to enjoy our terrass yet propely without having a blanket around! Next weekend we are going to Copenhagen with Nico, hopefully the summer is further there! Looking forward spending 3 days there. As we came from Italy a few weeks back, we had a 6 hour stop in Copenhagen, so we did a quick visit, it only takes 14min with the metro from the airport to Norreport in the city, easy! We just walked around a few hours and got familiar with the city as I havent been there more than once before, and that is over 20 years ago, when we  went on a schooltrip to Germany and back trough Denmark.
Lots of tours to plan both at Ingves Travel Agency and at home organizing my own tours to southern Africa, Namibia is becoming more popular. Im also looking into organizing tours to Mozambique, more relaxation, fishing and diving tours, here is a nice place owned by some people I know: Massinga beach Lodge. I think a combination with South Africa, Cape town and safari and then a few days relaxation at Massinga is a good combination, let me know if you are interested:)

Otherwise all are doing well here, girls are having a flu at the moment, coughing. This evening we went to practise bicycling and to see the sheep close by, tomorrow Liina is going to visit pre school where she starts in August, she is looking forward to that, it is like a breaking point, she becomes a big girl!!... these girls are growing too fast. Even Viivi, 4 years, makes her own rules nowdays, like today she asked if she can go and play with the neighbour girl, just like we told her to do..ask us first and so far she understood very well... but Nico said no, and then he thought she had walked in to be with Liina, but no, she had walked straight to this girls house like she never heard him...!! That is just one example of many, and then she has all kind of great excuses and explanations, so there is nothing wrong with her imagination...maybe her hearing:)

Have a nice evening all of you and a great weekend!
