Planning

Just got back from a nice morning run, it smells summer outside, I just wish we could get a heat wave soon, so i can start wearing my summer clothes.
As I told earlier we had a target with my college at work to be very fit by end of August...and I think I have been quite good, and luckily I still have 3 months to go, but Im on the right track:)
If someone is looking for great training clothes I can recommend the swedish brand Casall, their clothes are very durable ,have a great fit and look great too, here is a link: www.casall.com
Last few days I have been planning a group tour for March 2012, 10 days, starting with Cape Town, including Cape Point, Boulders, a city walk, Table Mountain, then 3 nights in the winelands including days of wine tasting, wine stomping and harvesting, wine festival in Paarl, and from there we fly to the Vic Falls for a 3 night stay, including a day tour to Chobe Game Reserve, a visit to the mighty Falls, and optional activities including helicopter rides, walks with lions, rides with elephants, white water rafting down Zambesi river for the brave one.. I have tried it once and it was one of those moments in my life I was both scared and excited, I could not believe the power of the water trough the rapids, the amazing feeling being in the middle of white foam and the sound created by the water. If you are interested of this tour , please contact me and I will give you more information.
Many people have asked about golfing in South Africa, and I can promise you that South Africa has a lot to offer golfers, world class golf courses all trough the country, beautiful sceneries, high standard on the service. You can start your holiday in the Cape winelands, for example Erinvale Estate, enjoy winetasting between golfing, and maybe a spa treatment might be something for the ladies, and end your holiday with golf& safari, at Hans Merensky Hotel& Spa, where you play golf on a 19-hole course where zebras, giraffes and other animals walk freely.
Im also busy planning a tour around the yearly Two Ocean Marathon in Cape Town, next year it is held on the date: 6-7.04.2012. Lets see if there will be interest in doing an active holiday with lots of activities and action:)

Enjoy the last week of May!

Eurovision, Hockey and other things

Last week/weekend was quite busy and long evenings. On friday we had a memebership evening at Lady Line, and I must say we where all stars after successfully completing the fashion show:)After all guest had left, a few of us still stayed behind chatting and enjoying time together...and some wine;), it was a fun evening with the girls!

On saturday morning we went to a family-event and that kept the girls busy a few hours. After that we went to buy a few plants for the garden/house, girls where chasing butterflies and in the evening we got ready for the Eurovision Song contest. I dont think the best song won, nowdays it is too much a question of what country gives points to which country.... but the whole happening is enjoyable to watch.

And on sunday it was hockey time! Im not a big hockey fan, but times like this it is great fun to watch...even if I did not make that last period...:) Im very happy for the finnish team to win Gold! Well done!!! But....Then to the negativity that the winning has brought up in finnish people....I think every person living in Finland is part of the nation, swedish/finnish/ foreigner/white/ or black , and has the same rights to enjoy the gold, so why these racist comments, that is immature !Start exploring the world instead! A happening like this is supposed to unite people, not put into different categories and blocks.

Yesterday , 17th, me and Nico had our 5th anniversary! I think back of all the things we have achieved and realize it is much in a short time:)

On saturday there is a Polarn& Pyret secondhand saleshappening in Vasa HS center and Im taking part, a great way to get rid of old P.O.P clothes and maybe find something new for the girls:) I myself came home with a bag of clothes yesterday after visiting my friend, she had springcleaned her wardrobe and where about to chuck away lots of clothes, luckily I got my hands on them before that:) Now it is my turn to empty my wardrobe again.

I have also been planning a group tour for next year march icluding Cape Town, wine making, safari , walk with lions, and Vic Falls, a nice package!:)

Have a lovely week!

Summer weather

It feels like we are getting a taste of the summer already:) yesterday was the warmest day so far this year, temperature over +20, one could be outside in a t-shirt and shorts. We spent over 5 hours outside with the girls yesterday, and to round off the day we went to Tropiclandia, an indoor waterpark with a heated pool, slides etc. The girls love to go there and last night Liina was a very proud girl as she swam on her own... with the floaters of course, but nobody held on to her:)she said that this summer she will learn to dive, I have to get her a snorkle and swimming glasses:)
Mothersday-sunshine and beautiful handmade cards from the girls, flowers, and new stripy rubberboots for rainy days:) I had a great day. We went for dinner to my mom&Markku on saturday evening, Viivi fell asleep while we where there, she was sick during the week, as expected she got sick after Liina , with fever and a runny nose, so she runs on low energy still, and I dont know what has got into her but last week she was so stubborn, she had to decide almost everything herself or there was screaming protests, like what shoes to put on, what clothes to put on, what plate to eat from, what pen to draw with....everything was a fight and testing my patience...maybe it is these (in)famous 3 years tantrums coming trough, especially in the mornings when we are in a hurry:)
This week friday we have a membership evening at Lady Line, including a fashion show by team Lady Line:)we must be professionals as we have only practized once so far..heheee..or we have a hectic week ahead of us!

Have a great week !

May Month

A new month and days are starting to get long, difficult to get to bed in time in the evenings:)
Last week Liina was sick, she had a fever coming and going and an endless runny nose. Viivi had also a bit of a fever but that was because her molars, her back teeth popping up:)
On thursday we celebrated Viivis 3 years birthday. On wednesday evening Liina & me went to town to buy a few presents...I realized it was a mistake once we where in the shop, I had to buy double of everything, Liina just saw what she wanted, and when she chose something for Viivi, she also wanted it. The birthday was again a nice gathering of friends, for both children and parents.
On friday I went to the hairdresser, keeping my hair short:) and then I had a meeting with my professor at Åbo Akademi, so from august onwards I will be studying again, Developmental Psychology:)! Something I really looking forward to, and already at this point I have to start thinking what to write my master thesis about. I will try to incorporate Finland and South Africa somehow...
I have 4 people travelling in Southern Africa at the moment, everything going well and this is how their trip proceeds:
4 nights Cape Town, including tours to Cape Point, and the Winelands
2 nights Victoria Falls
3 nights Kruger Park
4 nights Mozambique
The price of the trip came to just under 3800euro/pp with all accommodation, all flights included, international and domestic, all transports and some tours. March- April are good months to travel, it is not too hot, and the peak season is over, not too crowded and many accommodations offer lower rates.
On friday evening my dad came to babysit and me& Nico went for dinner to Strampen, it was their opening of the season. Good food& great company.
On saturday we went for a braai to our friends Heli& Frantz, had a few glasses of sparkling and enjoyed a relaxed evening.
And then yesterday, 1st of May, windy as always on this day, we went to the 1st of may happening in our village, Liina brought her wallet with and bought her & Viivi some toys, there was a storyteller telling the story about ´ Emil i Lönneberga´ when his head got stuck in the soupbowl, girls enjoyed the story and after this we had juice and ´munkkar´= sweet, soft rolls with jam in the middle and plenty of sugar on the top, very tasty:) After this me& the girls drove into town and went to see the kiddies movie: `Var inte rädd långa farbrorn´, and that was a perfect ending to the day.

I wish you all a great start to this new week!

Love
