Italy, sea and countryside!

Just got back yesterday from a 5 day trip in Italy with Nico, to Le Marche area( Grottammare, San Bennedetto, Ripartransone, Offida, Ascoli) . We went to check out a few places and I must say I was nicely suprised how beautiful everything is there, how friendly the italians are,and helpful as not many speak english in this part of the country.  Our great guide for the days spent here was Paolo Pellei, he is married to a finnish girl and speaks fluently finnish and english. We ate very good, enjoyed very good wines, and the sun was pleasant, around 26-28 celsius. I wont write much more today rather let the pictures talk:)

Here we are visiting a local wineyard close to Ripartransone, 4 generations same family, run nowdays by two very dedicated brothers.

 Pictures from Ripartransone

The smallest passage in Italy, 43 cm
...I made it trough, a good way to make sure you stay in shape:)

 Our accommodation Relais del Colle

A view that makes one forget about everything else!

 Streets of Ascoli

 ...inside the Cathedral

Ascoli main square, and the cathedral in the back ground

And here follows an example of a lunch, this day a fish lunch enjoyed with 2 bottles of wine...we are in Italy so meals are long and wine is part of the meal, day or night:)

....and after this I decided not to eat for at least a week!!
Here a picture taken in Grottammare, where we stayed 3 nights
This is taken from San Bennedetto, the local season starts in June and ends end of August, if you want to miss the main tourist season come in May or September. I do have to say that this area is still very unknown by the tourists, you get a very friendly , genuin feeling from the locals living here.
A knew hotel built in San Bennedetto, luxurious but very well priced, Smeraldo Suite& Spa

Our accommodation Casa Pazzi in Grottammare, the best view in town!

A visit to a small vineyard just outside Cupra Marittima, Oasi Degli Angeli. They are known for the wine Kurni.

And the famus Kurni redwine, had to buy 1 bottle home:)

And this is the view on our way to the airport in Rome
A great 5 days in Italy!

Love,

Jannika
