Viivi was sick during the week, last sunday she got a fever and it got so high that on monday morning I took her to the emergency as she had 40.5c and complained of a headache, luckily it was not meningitis, as that what I was worried about. When we got the desk at the emergency I only sat down and explained what worried me and Viivi threw up, all over the desk....so that made them immediately attend to us. After an hour there we came home and Viivi slept the whole day, having fever tops inbetween, she had a virus and Panadol helped well, and on wednesday she was back to normal self again:) Lets hope Liina does not get sick now....Im just thinking of Nico being at home alone with the girls next week when Im traveling.
And while Im in Croatia it is Liinas birthday, that is a bit sad, but hopefully it wont upset her too much, and she will be happy having her party when Im back again.
October will be all about planning my upcoming tours to Namibia/ South Africa, I will write more about that later.
Time to have a house cleaning day..sometimes I do miss the easy life in South Africa, I got so spoiled with Emzhen ( our housekeeper) , she came every morning at 08.30 and left after 15.00, she did everything, washing, folding, cleaning, ironing and even knew how everyone drank their coffe:). I remember when my dad came for a 3 month visit and he had just arrived, he put his suitcase in the room, and just a few minutes later he went to get something out of his suitcase, but he could not find his suitcase anymore, Emzhen had already unpacked it:) So this with cleaning and me is not such a good match...especially with 2 kids in the house it feels like a never ending circle.
Some other memories from South Africa, to live in Jburg was not a paradise and I would never live there again, we had 5 guarding dogs and bars for our windows and a fence around our property, I could not go out running by myself so Nico made a 500m track for me on the fields of the property and my lovely dog, Uli, followed me around, he was a boerboel, like on the picture ( it is not Uli but looks very similar) a south african breed, bred for purpose of guarding the homestead. He was such a lovely dog towards me, like a teddybear, but he could be very aggressive and if someone got too close to me he growled deep and would probably have attacked if I had told him to....I was actually myself attacked by a dog like this once in SA and got 5 stiches in my head, and after that Im very careful with dogs in SA, especially if they are in a closed property and owner is nowhere close by, or even with owner close by. This is normal in Johannesburg where almost all free standing homes have guarding dogs and fences. In contrast life is completely different in Cape Town, its like night and day almost, therefore I never really plan tours with stop overs in Johannesburg, only if it is necessary because of flights.
