Happy Easter !

It is sunday, sun is shining and we are planning to go for a bike ride, will try to remember to take my camera with:) Easter has been a nice long holiday, on friday afternoon I went to a 30th birthday dinner, my good college at work:) we had a nice time and the dinner was great! My dad came for dinner to us in the evening, as it was friday:) So on the menu was lamb the whole friday.

On saturday we had 25 easter bunnies/ witches coming wishing us happy easter, Im glad we stored up with lots of candy for this:) Liina had a fever of 38,5 on saturday so we did not go this year, but next year I will walk with the girls wishing happy easter and collecting candy from neighbours:) Later in the afternoon I did some garden work, cleaned the front yard from leaves, a project I will carry on with today. In the evening we just watched a few movies, first a kiddies movie, Animals United, about animals in the Delta not getting any water, because humans using the water for own selfish projects and not thinking of the consequences, a funny movie with a message, I think all adults should see this movie too and get the message where the world is going and what we humans destroy.

This day

Almost weekend knocking on the door again.... Had a relaxing day today, went to the gym for a relaxing body balance class, after that I had my eyebrows done and a facial, at the gym, we have a girl there this week who is studying to be a beauty terapist, so I have really enjoyed the day:) My muscles are very sore from a class yesterday, and I have difficulty sitting:) How can that feel good...!

Tonight we are going to Liina& Viivis daycare for an easter evening, we are going to make decorations for Easter together, it is nice that they arrange something like this. I also bought a 20kg bag of soil, as we are making easter grass with the girls at home..we are not using all for the easter grass:)....I see that our few plants we have at home desperately needs some new soil to survive:)

Early mornings

Usually I have no problems with early mornings, but on a monday...this morning I just wished it was evening again so I could crawl into bed! But once up its not so bad anymore, it is just when you get swung from your dreams back to reality at 5h30 in the morning that it feels cruel.

My weekend has been pleasant, on staurday whole family went into town, girls where invited to a birthday party in the afternoon, so into town we went to buy gifts, and as it was for their friends( twins) they started already on friday to plan what to buy. And it is amazing how determined a 4 year old can be, she knew exactly what gifts to buy, she looked around and when she saw what she wanted she just pointed and said: ´that we will buy´.

On saturday evening we watched a movie `127hours´, I was abit afraid it was going to be a heavy movie, but I found it very interesting. Gave a lot of after thought, amazing what we are capable of if we have to save our lives. A movie worth seeing.

On sunday the sun was shining, we spent time outside, I went jogging, and in the evening I went to a fashion show with my mom:)

My Mac!

On monday evening my Mac decided it had enough and the harddrive stopped working, what a awful feeling when you just hear a clicking sound but nothing happens...and I have a lot of info on my computer, tourplans,all my messages, calculations, pictures...a long list...but luckily a computer expert took care of my Mac and last night I got it back ,So Glad to have you back! a new harddrive, all my info restored and everything upgraded, better& bigger, even my memory( not mine but the computers:), so I got half my life back again. It makes me realize how important it is to back up everything. Why is it that many times in life we only realize the importance of things when they happen to us?

Last night we had an early night, at 9h30pm we all where in bed. I have had early mornings the whole week, 5h30, so last night I felt like my brain was on holiday and reached out for a pillow, it felt so good to sleep 11 hours:)

I have new plans for my private group tours, Im busy planning a marathon tour including the Two Ocean marathon held in Cape Town every year, and then I met a photographer yesterday and we are going to plan a photo workshop tour next year. That will be interesting as and maybe I get time to get more involved myself in photographing. In future I will concentrate on more specialized tours with a specific interest. I will also become more involved in different charity projects,involving children, projects that can be visited during my tours. There is much help needed in the world, and if I can do my part trough the tours, it will make a difference.

Spring time

After a few miserable grey days it seems like the sun is finding its way trough the clouds:) I like the first days of spring, when you can smell spring, you all know what spring smells like, that moist, sunny ,dirt smell:)

Days passes by too quickly, is it so that the older you get the days get shorter...a nice thing though is that the days are getting much lighter. Not so much has happened since I last wrote, we are living quite a day to day life without any big happenings.

On saturday we had friends over and Nico made sushi, food tasting delicious and company sparkling= all the ingredients for a great evening.

Liina& Viivi have entered the puppetshow stage, so on sunday we where sitting on Liinas bed wacthing puppetshows...and of course me and Nico also had to take part with our impressive acting talents:)...at least the girls laughed:)

And yesterday I bought the girls yellow nailpolish, as the other night Liina decided she was going to paint her toenails, she found a bright pink colour( not mine, Liinas) in the bathroom, took it to her room, and painted besides her toenails half her foot...so yesterday I then painted their nails nice and yellow, as they are not allowed to even try themselves until they are 10....or maybe 7:).

Liina is very interested in letters, she writes all kind of letters on paper and brings it to me to read, and I have to read the strangest long words that are hard to pronounce...her name she writes fine already.

Another stage the girls have entered is using all blankets they can find to build their own hides, whatever Liinas does , Viivi does also. So last week Liina built a hide in the livingroom, and ever morning when she woke up she crawled in there and slept a bit more, same in the evenings:) But as we cant have a permanent hide in the livingroom, I helped her build one in her room.

Summervacation...it is time to start planning that soon also, I think this summer we will spend just in Finland, rent a huosemobile and drive around, maybe to eastern Finland....?And maybe a visit to summer Stockholm:)

Tours are slow at this time of the years, as it is winter in South Africa soon, but Im busy planning for next season. When we have summer in Finland, it is winter in South Africa, and as we know, not many people want to travel away from our summers, even if the best time for safaris is during the dry, crisp winter months.Many people ask about the weather in South Africa, and it varies much, Cape Town has hot, windy summers, not much rain, but then again rainy winters, and the northern part has summer rains but no rain in the winter.
